World Leaders Turn Peace Summit Into Backgammon Tournament
In an attempt to bring about world peace, the leaders of seventy two nations turned a two day peace summit into a backgammon tournament.
After a 12 hour stalemate, the leaders and top diplomats of seventy two countries relaxed from peace talks to play backgammon. The tournament results were not representative of armed forces held by each power. During the tournament, Israel occupied most of the checkers belonging to the representative of the proposed Palestinian State. However, the Palestinian delegation finally broke free and Israel left the game empty handed.
A dramatic turn of events saw Cyprus use Greece to completely stuff Turkey. England were blind sided by the French and the US managed to knock themselves out of the tournament. The final board was between Iran and Iraq and saw both sides trying to dictate every move. Opening with double two’s Iran stormed into the dominant position. Iraq pulled back with a six, five throw but the defiant winners, hands down, were Iraq. The Iraqi representative, Mr Qoose Amaq was later quoted as saying “Our playing tactics may have been a little unethical, but our game play just blew up in the end”.

It’s a shame that the peace summit couldn’t have gone as smooth as the tournament, but I do think that inroads have been made. Who knows, maybe this will be the start of World peace, completely inspired by the game of backgammon”.
